Minutes of meeting 11/12/11

President Jerry called the meeting to order at 8:11PM. The meeting was held at our Annual Awards Banquet at Pat & Jerry’s Catering in Auburn.  Members present were Jerry & Marie Lubbers, Pat & April Blackman, Rod & Karen Andrews, Gene/Bob & Ginny Bastien, Rick & Sam Wilder, Blane & Lynn Kamp, Bob & Mary Lindell, Rich & Connie Yerman, Marty & Diane Schmidt, Mark Wiley & Tish Markowicz, Paul & Susana Roznowski, Rich & Sharyn Best, Don Weinand, Jim May, Jon Lane, Malcolm Coles and Renee Wilde.  One guest attended, Renee’s friend Marsha.

Marie read the minutes from the October meeting and they were accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report:  Pat advised we have $1258 in our checking account but tonight’s banquet bill has not yet been paid and $100.00 in cash is on the gift table for tonight.   Everyone attending has paid their 2012 dues plus some others.

Old Business:

Bylaws update:  Marie had sent everyone the updated bylaws proposal by email and read the changes being proposed.  Marty motioned to accept the new bylaws.  Rod seconded.  The vote passed unanimously.  Thanks to Rick who did a great job updating them.

Logo info update:  Rich reported concerning the use of the BMW emblem and trademark issues.  His contact at BMW said updating has been put on hold and gave no promises but just said to use caution.  Rich checked back with him later and no further update info was available.  The conclusion is that we are right back where we started and will wait for the other shoe to fall.

Election of officers:  The current slate is:  President:  Rich Yerman, Treasurer:  Pat Blackman, Activity Coordinator:  Marty Schmidt.  There were no additional nominations from the floor so the slate was voted in by acclamation.  Vice President Rick Wilder and Secretary Marie Lubbers have another year to serve.

New Business:

Marty, as our new Activity Coordinator requests input from members concerning second and fourth Wednesday dinner suggestions.  Pat & Jerry’s will be the default location for Wednesday breakfasts.

Rick inquired if Jerry & Marie will agree to host the next club meeting.  They agreed and Tech Day will be held in the spring of 2012 and will announce the date when it is known.

Renee motioned to adjourn at 8:36PM and Rod seconded.  We then enjoyed our banquet supper and the announcements by emcee Paul, who thanked Jerry for his term as president, welcomed those members we do not see often, thanked Sharyn & Rich B & Malcolm for the banquet preparations and also thanked award presenters Rich Y and Marty, who never fail to come up with ideas for awards.  Mark reported on MSF; 40,000 people have taken classes and BMW riders are the most responsible and proficient.  He noted that members, besides himself, Rod, Jerry & Tish are or have been instructors.  The gift/prize drawing was a hit as usual.

Respectfully submitted,

Marie Lubbers, Secretary
