Nesbitt Steam/Air BlowMeter™

This unique mass flow meter and transmitter measures compressible gas flow at the very high velocities found in steam/air blowing. This BlowMeter™ can withstand the high structural stresses found in these blowing techniques,  while creating  a very low permanent dP in the line. A 4-20 mA current loop directly ranged to gas flow is provided.

Using the optional TriLoop™, packaged in a NEMA 4 water-tight enclosure, this BlowMeter™ will provide three (3) additional 4-20 mA current loop signals proportional to the gas temperature, pressure and differential pressure created.

Nesbitt Steam/Air BlowValve™

This extremely reliable, fast acting BlowValve™ is as durable in steam blow services as in air blow. Using a Bettis single action actuator with a high volume electric solonoid, this valve can open as fast as 4 seconds, with an adjustable opening time to 30 seconds or more. This valve can tolerate the generally erosive nature of dirty steam or air. Although rarely needed, this valve is fully field servicable

Available in 8 inch 300#, 12 inch 600#, and 16 inch 600# sizes, all valves are 316SS and are rated to up to 450 psig (for 300# flanged) and 850 psig (for 600# flanged) at up to 950 degF.

Steam/Air Blow Silencers

This diffusion-style Silencer with or without Acoustic Absorption Core, is ued for attenuating and/or absorbing noise energy associated with exiting compressible gases (steam or air). Available in 12 inch or 16 inch 300 lb ANSI Raised Face flanged inlet sizes; for use up to 750 °F temperature extremes. Silencer also includes dual water drains for accumulating and directing exiting water flow.

The Silencer uses a specialized double-diffusion chamber (field clean-able) to attenuate the noise energy from exiting steam or air up to 35 dB (often approx. 100-110 dB actual within 50 ft) depending on flow and background conditions. The optional Acoustic Absorption Core can be used to absorb additional noise energy and attenuate an additional 10-20 dB (often approx. 85-95 dB actual within 50 ft) depending on flow and background conditions.

Nesbitt High Pressure TargetRAM™

Coming soon! The upcoming Nesbitt TargetRAM™ is a pneumatic target insertion device, which can be used to insert polished metal targets into steam/air blow piping. This device can handle either square bar stock targets or long, flat plate targets, up to 18 inches long. Typically used downstream of a blow valve or in low pressure steam blow piping, this device can be safely operated at up to 150 psig.

Polished Targets

Available in Softwood, Hardwood, Aluminum, Brass, Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel, these polished targets are used to check for impingements in a flowing gas stream, such as steam, air or fuel gas. They are available in two (2) styles:

  • Square bar stock, for use with threaded handles for easy insertion/removal; or
  • Long, flat plates, for use with the various styles of pneumatic ram-style automated target inserters available in the market, including Nesbitt’s hig pressure TargetRam™

Stringent quality control and exquisite craftsmanship assures that each target is polished to a blemish-free mirrored surface, meeting ASTM XX specifications. Each target is triple wrapped; first individually wrapped in non-stratch paper, again wrapped in brown paper and finally in a bubble-foam wrap. Ten (10) targets are packaged together in a heavy-foam lined wooden crate for shipment anywhere around the world!
